    very friendly staff

when i went to book two more nights the price was 460 pound over the net

Staff friendly, room comfortable, location was handy for visiting my daughter who lives nearby

traffic noise and loud people in the car park below our room late at night

    The staff and pub

It was cold in the room, but im from Sweden, I dont mind ;)

    Spacious warm room.

Noisy guests, talking in corridors and banging room doors at 4am!!!!!

  • Family with children

The hotel is warm and clean, lovely hot water in bathroom. Although some updating is required the hotel represents excellent value for money. I would certainly return.

The hotel room was very plain with quite old and basic furniture. There seemed to be a 'damp'problem at the front of the hotel which we noticed getting in and out of lift and this area smelt of cigarette smoke.

  • Family with children
    6.6

    Price, location, cleanliness, parking, access.

Heating - unbearably hot in room and radiator controls not working. Had to have windows fully open, even when snowing/raining/blowing a gale. Lack of comfortable seating in room, particularly difficult for 83 year old mother who was one of our party, to sit comfortably on either a hardbacked dining chair or the edge of the bed. Tv - huge old thing, the sound had a mind of its own and whatever setting we tried, went up and (mainly) down at will. Most if the time, struggled to hear it. At one point tv stopped working altogether, mid-programme and staff had to come and fix it, but they seemed unconcerned about the volume issues. Pillows too flat and insufficient in number.

Friendly staff, good location and very pretty grounds. Clean bathroom.

Room a little bit scruffy, could do with a lick of paint. Double bed was just two singles pushed together. Windows didn't lock and created a bit of a draft.

  • Older travelers
    7.0

Spacious breakfast room and relaxing bar. Great location without being in the city centre.breakfast staff very friendly.

The receptionists were poor, unknowledgeable and never at the desk. Probable because the reception was so cold compared to the rest of the hotel. Free WiFi was advertised but we had to leave the room to get a signal.

  • Couple
    5.8

Locations, breakfast and staff were lovely in there

There were stains on the walls in the room 309, the bathroom door would not shut! Not cleaned properly as there was someone elses earing in our room...our rooms were mixed up as reception gave our room to another person with the same last name but different initials and address as the reservations were not checked properly

  • Group of friends
    9.2

Easy location to the city centre.Staff were very helpful uopn arrival and departure.

Breakfast service was poor. Staff could'nt keep up with the morning rush, therefore customers had to wait ages before more food was being cooked and then brought out.

  • Older travelers
    6.6

    The price was fair.

Toilet facilities, lack of meals if you check-in late.

  • Family with children
    7.8

When I booked, I didn't realise it clashed with the Labour Party Conference. However, despite being obviously busy, the staff were helpful without being overbearing. My room(402) had been recently refurbished and I was impressed with the whirlpool bath and the large screen tv. The other rooms(151and152) on the other hand were in need of re- decorating. Overall, a good value 3* hotel in need of further refurbishment.

  • Couple
    7.0

Price and location as needed to be close to the royal hospital

Room was gr8 with a few damp patches and mold but for what we paid it wasnt too bad

  • Single
    4.6

It was relatively near the university where my daughter was and whom I was visiting

On a Sunday evening it was impossible to get any food, not even sandwiches after eight o' clock. There was a very unpleasant odour in the Bar.
